Day 178 Training Tool

What have you been doing this week? This was the last week of school for us. Did you do anything to celebrate the last day of school? A couple of us went to the movies after the last day. We went to see a movie called The Losers. It’s kind of like an action movie. What are you going to do this summer? I’m going to New Orleans. It’s a Habitat for Humanity trip. We’ll be building a house and also, like, sightseeing. I think there are thirteen of us kids and then there’s parents. We’ll be there a week. And then there’s the swim team. Tell me about the swim team. We have our first meet on Saturday and then another on Tuesday. I swim backstroke and butterfly the best. We practice every day, unless weather conditions won’t let us. We have meets every weekend all summer till the beginning of August. Are you planning anything else? My dad and I are going to Boy Scout summer camp. This is like my fifth time. I’m going to be doing archery and a couple other merit badges. We stay in Adirondacks. They got three sides, a roof, and an open front. We go to a big mess hall for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And there are lots of Indian-themed things. There’s a big lake and we go swimming. There are also, like, a lot of sports and stuff. What is your dad going to do? He’s going to be herding children basically. He’s going to be one of the main dads for the troop, making sure we don’t get hurt and stuff. Is there anything else that you like to do? I really like music mostly now. I’m trying to learn to play the piano. That’s going to be hard. I already play the trumpet. Is there anything you’d like to say to kids in other countries? Hello, from America!

이번 주에는 무엇을 하고 지냈나요? 이번 주는 우리 학교의 마지막 주였어요. 학교 마지막 날을 기념하기 위해 특별히 한 일이 있었나요? 우리 몇 명은 마지막 날 이후에 영화 보러 갔어요. 우리는 The Losers라는 영화를 보러 갔어요. 약간 액션 영화 같은 영화예요. 이번 여름에는 무엇을 할 계획인가요? 저는 New Orleans에 갈 거예요. Habitat for Humanity 봉사 여행이에요. 우리는 집을 짓기도 하고 또 관광도 할 거예요. 아이들은 열세 명 정도이고 부모님들도 함께 가요. 우리는 거기에 일주일 동안 있을 거예요. 그리고 수영팀 활동도 있어요. 수영팀에 대해 이야기해 주세요. 토요일에 첫 수영대회가 있고 화요일에 또 하나 있어요. 저는 배영과 접영을 가장 잘해요. 날씨가 허락하지 않는 경우를 제외하고는 매일 연습해요. 여름 내내 8월 초까지 매주 주말마다 대회가 있어요. 또 다른 계획이 있나요? 아버지와 저는 Boy Scout 여름 캠프에 갈 거예요. 이번이 다섯 번째 정도예요. 저는 양궁과 몇 가지 merit badge 활동을 할 거예요. 우리는 Adirondacks에서 지내요. 그곳은 벽이 세 면만 있고 지붕이 있으며 앞은 열려 있어요. 우리는 아침, 점심, 저녁을 먹기 위해 큰 식당에 가요. 그리고 인디언 문화 테마의 것들이 많이 있어요. 큰 호수도 있어서 수영도 해요. 그리고 스포츠 같은 활동들도 많이 있어요. 아버지는 무엇을 하실 예정인가요? 기본적으로 아이들을 돌보는 역할을 하실 거예요. 그분은 troop의 주요 아버지 역할 중 한 명으로서 우리가 다치지 않도록 돌봐주실 거예요. 또 좋아하는 것이 있나요? 요즘은 음악을 정말 좋아해요. 피아노 연주를 배우려고 노력 중이에요. 그건 어려울 것 같아요. 저는 이미 트럼펫을 연주해요. 다른 나라 아이들에게 해주고 싶은 말이 있나요? 미국에서 안녕!
