American Teens Talk - Michael

What have you been doing this week? I've been going to school and playing outside with friends, mostly. What are you doing in school? We just finished our end-of-grade tests. School ends in two weeks. What do you play when you play with friends? I play football, soccer, basketball with the guys in the neighborhood. We play at Evan's house. He has a basketball hoop in his yard. And I see a fishing pole in your hands. Yeah, I like to go to the pond and fish. I normally go about once a week. I usually catch a few. Today I hooked five, but they all got off. But I did catch two. It really keeps you going. It makes you think, "I really want to catch that fish." My dad loves to fish, so he taught me. I don't think you've always lived in this neighborhood. Is that right? Yeah. We lived in Switzerland for two years. I liked it, but I like it here more. There's more stuff to do here, more entertainment. But it was fun in Switzerland. Michael, 12 Did you learn a new language in Switzerland? I already knew Swiss German because my mom was from Switzerland. I learned it when I was three or four. Is there anything that you would like to say to kids in other countries? Um. 이번 주에는 무엇을 하고 지냈나요? 이번 주에는 주로 학교에 다니고 친구들과 밖에서 놀면서 지냈어요. 학교에서는 무엇을 하고 있나요? 학교에서는 학년말 시험을 막 끝냈어요. 학교는 2주 후에 방학을 합니다. 친구들과 놀 때는 무엇을 하나요? 친구들과 놀 때는 동네 친구들과 미식축구, 축구, 농구를 해요. 우리는 에반의 집에서 놀아요. 에반의 집 마당에는 농구 골대가 있어요. 손에 낚싯대를 들고 있네요. 네, 저는 연못에 가서 낚시하는 것을 좋아해요. 보통 일주일에 한 번 정도 가요. 보통 몇 마리 정도는 잡아요. 오늘은 다섯 마리가 미끼를 물었지만 모두 놓쳤어요. 하지만 결국 두 마리는 잡았어요. 정말 계속하게 만드는 매력이 있어요. "저 물고기를 꼭 잡고 싶다."라는 생각이 들게 하죠. 아버지가 낚시를 아주 좋아하셔서 저에게 가르쳐 주셨어요. 항상 이 동네에서 살았던 것은 아닌 것 같은데요. 맞나요? 네. 우리는 스위스에서 2년 동안 살았어요. 스위스도 좋았지만 저는 여기가 더 좋아요. 여기에는 할 일이 더 많고 즐길 거리도 더 많아요. 하지만 스위스에서도 즐거운 시간을 보냈어요. 마이클, 12세 스위스에서 새로운 언어를 배웠나요? 어머니가 스위스 출신이셔서 저는 이미 스위스 독일어를 알고 있었어요. 세 살이나 네 살 때 배웠어요. 다른 나라의 어린이들에게 해 주고 싶은 말이 있나요? 음... 미국에서 안녕하세요!
