Day211 American Teens Talk - Sue

Q: What have you been doing this week?

SUE: I’ve gone to school every day this week, and we have exams next week, so we have been studying a lot. I play two sports and I’ve gone to basketball practice and volleyball practice. And we had a basketball game that we just won.

Q: Did you have to travel to get to the game?

SUE: We traveled about thirty minutes to play the other team.

Q: Does playing two sports take time?

SUE: A lot. I usually have two hours of basketball practice every day and two and a half hours of volleyball practice twice a week.

Q: What are you studying?

SUE: I’m in pre-calculus, and I take Spanish 3 and physics. I also take humanities, which is like history and English combined.

Q: Is that all of your classes?

SUE: Yes Ma’am.

Q: What will you do this weekend?

SUE: Study for my exams! That’s about all I have time to do.

Q: How is your family?

SUE: Well, my brother is sick. He has a cough and can’t sleep well, but we’re really OK.

Q: Is there anything that you would like to say to kids in other countries?

SUE: I hope you have a great year, do well, and study hard.

SUE: 이번 주에는 매일 학교에 갔고, 다음 주에 시험이 있어서 공부를 많이 하고 있어요. 저는 두 가지 운동을 하는데, 농구 연습과 배구 연습에 다녀왔어요. 그리고 방금 이긴 농구 경기도 있었어요.

Q: 경기하러 가기 위해 이동해야 했나요?

SUE: 상대 팀과 경기하기 위해 약 30분 정도 이동했어요.

Q: 두 가지 운동을 하면 시간이 많이 드나요?

SUE: 많이 들어요. 보통 매일 두 시간씩 농구 연습을 하고, 일주일에 두 번 두 시간 반씩 배구 연습을 해요.

Q: 어떤 과목을 공부하고 있나요?

SUE: 저는 미적분 예비과정을 공부하고 있고, 스페인어 3과 물리학도 수강하고 있어요. 인문학도 수강하는데, 역사와 영어를 합쳐 놓은 것 같은 과목이에요.

SUE: 네, 맞습니다.

SUE: 시험공부를 할 거예요! 그것 말고는 다른 걸 할 시간이 거의 없어요.

SUE: 음, 제 남동생이 아파요. 기침을 하고 잠도 잘 못 자지만, 저희 가족은 전반적으로 잘 지내고 있어요.

SUE: 모두 좋은 한 해를 보내고, 잘 지내고, 공부도 열심히 하길 바라요.
